Sanity has finally returned. My inability to sit still and my heart being a dripping tree full of sap complicates things.
I worked the 2 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. shift this morning. Passed Cape Fear around 4 a.m. Saw 1 shooting star but passing clouds covered my sunrise. Seas have been rough and steady. Stopped in Beaufort to refuel and restock but word of a storm had us dock for the night. Behind schedule but 30 knot breeze and high seas through Hatteras are not ideal. Hatteras will be the worst part of the trip but at least we’ll do it in daylight. We’ve flown the shoot both days. There is nothing like spinnaker and a sunny day in the middle of the Atlantic. I am the luckiest.
Delta’s Sky magazine is an every flight indulgence. July’s edition is full of advertising and marketing info with fun thoughts that instigate bursts of desire for my next step.
Quotes that powered that part of my brain today: “originality that draws on popular culture or is so brilliant that it becomes pop culture…. Best practices are by definition the antithesis of innovation” -Christian Haas
“many successful creative people are able to strike a perfect balance between true humbleness and frightening egomania. Exceptional creatives are not sure if they hate or love what they’re doing, and everyday is a battle to justify existence and worth.” -Linus Karlsson & Paul Malmstrom
